Replenishment of lost facial volume is routinely accomplished in our office treatment rooms. This procedure uses a variety of fillers to augment missing volume. Fillers such as Voluma, Restylane, Sculptra and Juvéderm are used on a daily basis. Anesthesia is usually supplied by a topical cream and iced compresses. Local anesthesia can also be given. Great care is taken by our experienced staff to leave our patients with a refreshed, natural appearance, while avoiding an overdone look.
Fat grafted into the cheeks and other areas of the face that loose volume with aging is an excellent long term solution to these aesthetic problems. The fat is taken from an area such as the lower abdomen or hips where the patient feels that they have an excess. This is done as a stand alone procedure or as part of a larger procedure such as a facelift. It is usually accomplished using a light anesthetic or a local anesthesia for small areas, or intravenous sedation for a larger procedure.
During cheek augmentation surgery, an implant is inserted through an incision made beneath the upper lip. Cheek implants come in different sizes, shapes and materials. A pocket is made through the incision directly over the cheekbone and the implant is inserted. The incision is then closed with absorbable sutures.

Cheek augmentation surgery with solid implants is performed under anesthesia as an outpatient procedure in our accredited surgical facility. The procedure usually takes just under an hour to complete. Following surgery, the outcome is immediately noticeable. There will be swelling, which could last several weeks.
