Overview

Ultherapy is used to tighten lax skin with ultrasound waves that work to create firming collagen.

Procedure Process

It is an in-office, outpatient procedure that is performed with the use of local anesthesia. Once the targeted areas to be treated are confirmed, the practitioner will administer the ultrasound via a handheld device to these areas. Because the procedure is somewhat painful, your doctor will block the area to be treated with a local anesthetic. This permits a stronger pain free treatment that gives improved results.

What to Expect

Ultherapy will produce a “boost” in the skin’s appearance almost immediately following the procedure. However, optimal results typically reveal themselves over time within 2-3 months. This is because elastic collagen builds over time, producing results slowly and effectively, maintaining collagen in the skin. While Ultherapy does not produce the dramatic results that surgery typically does, it is a great alternative for those seeking subtle changes without having to undergo surgery.

Ultherapy FAQs

Ideal Candidates?

Ultherapy is an ideal procedure for individuals that are not comfortable with an invasive surgical procedure, but still want to see noticeable results. Ultherapy is perfect for anyone that has noticed a “relaxing” of their skin, especially around the eyebrows, on the neck, and under the chin. The ideal age for this treatment are those in their 30’s and 40’s, who experience moderate skin laxity.

How Long do the Results Last?

Ultherapy results can be seen immediately following the procedure, however, it is more common for patients to see results a few months following their procedure. Patients can expect the results to last for a year or two at which time they could undergo another procedure.

How Many Treatments?

The amount of treatments required for optimal results depends on the patient and their goals. Some patients will only need a single treatment session, while others will require several.
