Belotero is a hyaluronic derma filler injection that adds volume and shape to the face. Belotero is comprised of hyaluronic acid, a natural hydrator within the skin that slowly diminishes as we grow older. New advances in skin rejuvenation filler products allow for the return of this valuable substance to be replenished back to the skin. Belotero is manufactured with a special formulation that has a unique ability to target fine lines and deep wrinkles. The most common areas for injection include the lips and smile lines, as well as forehead wrinkles. It is best for patients who desire an immediate wrinkle solution that creates a more youthful complexion.
Belotero is administered during an in-office appointment that typically takes about 15-30 minutes. The injection treatment, including the dosage, specific formulation, and injection location, is tailored during the procedure to fulfill the patient’s specific needs. The injection is given through a syringe to localized areas on the face. Patients will feel a small prick as the needle inserts through the skin, but any pain or discomfort can be controlled with a topical anesthetic.
"Dr. Colin Failey came highly recommended to me. I searched for a long time to find the right dr who I would be able to trust in. Dr Failey operated on me last week and I cannot say enough about this man. He has a bedside magical and totally honest way about him. I am very happy I met Dr Failey in my life. He corrected all the former mistakes that was performed on me by previous dr. Also the entire staff at the Peer Group is wonderful. Made me feel comfortable and confident about what I was going to experience . God Bless Dr Failey"- Anonymous / RateMDs / May 22, 2016

"Lipo for Hard to Flatten Tummy and Smaller Thighs - Dr Starker was very professional. He always made me feel comfortable and never tried to sell me on other procedures. He explained everything completely and let me ask as many questions without making me feel rushed. He saw me a couple of times before the procedure and several times afterward to monitor my healing and progress. The office building was nicely decorated and clean. The staff was friendly and professional as well. His price was more than fair and competitive. Other plastic surgeons I interviewed asked for much more in fee and couldn’t even give me examples of their work! Dr Starker was able to show example of his work. For these reasons I would highly recommend Dr Starker. Not one problem occurred throughout my time in his care."- S. / RealSelf / Nov 06, 2017

What to Expect
Immediately following a Belotero injection, mild swelling and redness at the injection site are usual. This will subside a few hours after the procedure. Patients can resume their normal activities immediately, but exercise should be avoided for a few hours. Results following the injection will become apparent immediately and usually last between 6-12 months. After the procedure, skin will appear younger and restored.
How Does it Compare?
There are many reputable fillers on the market today, each with their set of benefits. While several filler products comprised of hyaluronic acid exist, Belotero works a bit differently to interact with the mid-to-deep dermis for correction of moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds (laugh lines). The differences between the hyaluronic fillers can be discussed during the initial consultation.
Is It Safe?
Yes. Belotero is an FDA approved Hyaluronic acid product that has undergone extensive tests to validate its efficacy and safety.
Botox or Filler?
Belotero, as well as many other injectable fillers, help reduce wrinkles by adding volume to those areas of the face deflated by aging or weight loss. By adding volume, the skin’s surface appears fuller and smoother. BOTOX, on the other hand, weakens the muscles that cause some wrinkles by temporarily freezing the underlying facial muscles, allowing them to relax. This causes the skin’s surface to appear softer and smoother. A skilled practitioner will be able to determine which procedure would garner the best results. Belotero results typically appear immediately and last for an average of 6-12 months.
