OPTIMAS
Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Florham Park, NJ and Somerville, NJ
OPTIMAS by InMode is an advanced beauty suite with several different treatment modalities. It allows for minimally invasive procedures that combine or enhance modern beauty technologies to rejuvenate the skin.
Some OPTIMAS modalities use RF technology, which consists of radio waves to transfer heat energy into the skin, which makes the skin more elastic and reduces prominent facial wrinkles. Microneedling, on the other hand, is the use of tiny needles that puncture the skin and stimulate healthy collagen and elastin production, which also makes the skin more even. Patients can choose to receive treatments on the face, neck, and various other areas of the body that can benefit from this effective treatment. (1)
If you are interested in reducing the appearance of wrinkles or simply want to revitalize your skin, The Peer Group in New Jersey offers the following non-surgical OPTIMAS treatments:

About OPTIMAS Treatments
As we age, our skin’s architecture changes over time. Factors such as genetics, lifestyle choices, exposure to the sun, and overall health contribute to the gradual fading of our skin’s youthful glow. With age, we may experience issues like sagging skin, fine lines, pigmentation problems, and even residual scars from acne. OPTIMAS treatments offer a minimally invasive approach that can revitalize skin by encouraging natural healing processes without significant surgery or lengthy recovery timelines.
Morpheus8
Morpheus8 is just one of the many modalities offered by OPTIMAS that combines the use of fractional RF energy and microneedling to improve the appearance of the skin. This treatment allows professionals to customize both the penetration depth–from 1-2 mm–and the intensity of energy delivery applied during treatment. (2) The handheld device features 24 small needles that puncture the skin of the targeted area to create very tiny wounds that will close up in a matter of days. (1) These needles, combined with the use of RF heat energy, will serve to tighten the skin and encourage new collagen growth.
Collagen is a protein that the body naturally produces during a wound response; the body produces less and less collagen over time, which can result in the skin looking drier or less resilient. Even though the micro-injuries Morpheus8 causes are very small, the skin will still produce collagen as a reaction. This collagen will serve to make the skin appear more hydrated, more healthy, and more youthful. The RF energy will also contribute to the skin’s elasticity and the creation of new blood vessels. (1) Your skin professional may recommend around 1-3 treatment sessions to get optimal results from Morpheus8. (1)
Morpheus8 Body
In addition to treating the face, Morpheus8 can also be used on areas of the body. Using the same RF microneedling technique, Morpheus8 Body can target areas like the arms, legs, abdomen, buttocks, and back to create a smoother appearance. (1) For these areas that are less sensitive than the face, we increase the penetration depth from 1-2 mm to 3-4 mm. (1)
Lumecca
Lumecca is a treatment that uses intense pulsed light (IPL) technology that can penetrate the skin and treat deeper damage. Lumecca can treat sun damage, acne scars, and redness. Lumecca is more efficient than regular IPL, which can require more sessions and longer recovery. IPL works differently from a laser, as it uses a flashlamp to generate light of varying wavelengths. (3) This light energy destroys damaged cells and other abnormalities. (3)
DiolazeXL
The DiolazeXL is an OPTIMAS modality used for laser hair removal. Using a diode laser, we can target hair follicles and damage them, discouraging future growth. The diode laser is effective in reducing unwanted hair growth while also not damaging the surrounding skin during treatment. (4) The DiolazeXL will target the pigment in the roots of the chosen hairs and destroy them. Laser hair removal is not permanent, but it is effective in achieving long-term results when compared to shaving or waxing.
Vasculaze
Vasculaze is a non-invasive laser therapy treatment that uses high-powered diode lasers to reduce the visibility of vascular lesions, such as spider veins, port wine stains, broken capillaries, and cherry angiomas. The treatment targets the hemoglobin in the blood vessels, delivering intense bursts of light energy that heat and destroy the affected veins without harming the surrounding tissues. The laser shrinks and restricts the targeted veins, forcing blood to be redirected into stronger, healthier veins. The body will eventually absorb the damaged and unused blood vessels, leaving the complexion even and clear.

Candidates
If you are looking to rejuvenate your skin, there is a good chance that one of the OPTIMAS treatments can work for you. Because of OPTIMAS’ customizable features, these treatments can often be tailored to a wide range of patient needs. However, there are some basic guidelines for what makes a good candidate for these kinds of skin treatments. The following may impact your candidacy:
- Collagen disorders
- Active infections
- Immunocompromised
- Currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- Poor wound healing
- Unrealistic expectations (1)
Personal Consultation
The first step in your OPTIMAS treatment is scheduling a personal consultation at The Peer Group. During this consultation, a certified professional will take a closer look at your skin and determine what the best treatment plan will be for you. By examining your skin and evaluating your medical history and skin goals, we will determine what depth and intensity level of the OPTIMAS treatment we should use during your procedure.
To schedule this initial meeting at The Peer Group, you can call (973) 822-3000 to reach both of our locations in Florham Park and Somerville, NJ. If you would prefer, you can also fill out The Peer Group’s contact form.
Procedure
Every OPTIMAS procedure will look slightly different because everybody’s skin has different needs, and each treatment plan is unique. However, the procedure will begin with your skin professional applying topical numbing. After this, they will apply the handheld device to the surface of the pre-discussed targeted area. (1)
If your treatment incorporates microneedling, the needles will make a pattern of tiny holes in the skin. At the same time, your skin professional can activate the RF heat energy. This energy will travel through the needles and into the skin. Depending on the extent of the treatment, we can customize the energy levels we use on smaller or more sensitive areas. (1) Your skin professional may elect to repeat the application on the same site if the treatment requires. (2) One session of any OPTIMAS treatment should take about 30-60 minutes, but this duration can change from patient to patient, according to the size of the targeted area.
Recovery
Most patients who receive an OPTIMAS treatment will experience a recovery period that lasts around 2-5 days. (1) Almost immediately after your treatment, your skin professional can help you cool your skin if the treatment type permits. This cooling can help reduce any redness and discomfort that may result from the procedure. Depending on your treatment, we may recommend that you apply antibiotic ointment to help heal your skin.
You may experience some scabbing, crusting, and sensitivity during your recovery–all of this is normal. Your skin professional may also recommend that you do not use any sunscreen or makeup on the treatment areas while you are still healing. (1) If your treatment incorporated microneedling, you can resume your normal skincare routine after around day three. Some patients may require a longer recovery period for their treatment.
Results
Many OPTIMAS treatments will result in the reduced appearance of acne scars and other textural issues. The collagen production that some of the treatments stimulate can make the skin appear more hydrated and supple. Some OPTIMAS treatments can also reduce hyperpigmentation, making for a more even skin tone. Overall, the skin will appear smoother and more youthful. These results may require a few additional sessions in order to fully appear, but some patients can see results after just one session. Our providers at The Peer Group will let you know how many treatments are typical for the issues you seek to address.
Even though OPTIMAS procedures are non-surgical, patients can enjoy the results of some treatments for as long as 3 years after treatment. The exact duration of results may depend on the type of treatment and how many sessions the patient receives.
