Chin Augmentation
Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Florham Park, NJ and Somerville, NJ
Like most facial surgery procedures, chin augmentation at New Jersey’s The Peer Group is intended to alter the look of a specific feature while maintaining and improving overall facial proportions, symmetry, and balance. Some patients who choose chin augmentation have a chin they have always considered to be too small or receded, while others want to have a face that is overall more symmetrical and balanced.

Procedure
Chin enhancement or augmentation is a procedure that involves inserting implants into the chin to make it more prominent. Incisions are made either inside the mouth or under the chin. The implant is inserted, and then securely attached to the chin bone.
Patients who are seeking plastic surgery because they feel that their nose draws too much attention may find that the problem is not an overly large nose, but a proportionally small chin. Determining the best procedure for creating proportional facial contours starts with a consultation.
Recovery
Inserting a chin implant will result in some post-surgical discomfort, bruising, and swelling. Once these side effects resolve in the weeks after the procedure, the new facial contours will be easily visible. The Peer Group team encourages patients to take time off from work and pause social obligations after their chin augmentation. Certain activities—such as sports that could result in a blow to the chin—should be avoided for at least six weeks.
Cost
While general financing information is available to anyone on this website, specific procedure costs are best discussed at a consultation.
