What Is Diamondglow^™?

DiamondGlow,^™ the next generation of microdermabrasion, is a resurfacing and rejuvenation treatment that combines exfoliation and cleansing with SkinMedica^® Pro-Infusion serums to transform the appearance of the skin from the inside out. It improves many common skin irregularities and concerns for all skin types and textures, including fine lines, overall dryness, dullness, acne scars, melasma, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and rough or uneven skin.

Procedure

A treatment consists of three steps: exfoliating skin, removing impurities, and delivering SkinMedica^® Pro-Infusion serum. The diamond tip removes the top layer of dead, flaky, dry cells that blocks the pores and gives your skin a lackluster, discolored appearance. It also cleans out blackheads. The DiamondGlow^™ handpiece suctions away the dirt, oil, and impurities.

Since the pores are open at the exact moment when the serums are applied—making the skin more permeable—they better penetrate the surface and are more effectively absorbed into the deeper layers.

Real crushed diamonds are attached to the DiamondGlow^™ device tip, which is how it gets its name. The treatment is completely customizable, with six different tips available, and any of several serums can be chosen based on the needs of the patient—whether the goal is brightening, clarifying, hydration, or anti-aging. It also includes lymphatic drainage around the eyes and on the neck.

Each step of the procedure occurs simultaneously and takes around 30 minutes. Patients may feel a scratching or stinging sensation during the treatment.

Recovery

There is minimal to no downtime after this procedure, and most patients are able to resume all of their normal activities right away, without any issues. Side effects are rare, but may include mild and temporary tightness, redness, and swelling.

Results

Patients notice that their skin becomes more luminous, clear, and supple after only one DiamondGlow™ session and peak on day three. Since the treatment removes blockages from the pores and promotes healthier skin, the skin will continue to significantly improve with each additional session. The results last between four to six weeks, and maintenance appointments can be scheduled for every three to four months.
